Overview
Emmert Missions is seeking a Senior Data Architect to support the customer’s changing system, mission, and priorities while ensuring leadership is aware of the necessary support to achieve FISMA compliance deadlines.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develops enterprise data solutions to meet customer mission objectives
- Assesses enterprise data repositories and where possible designated data systems of record
- Provides recommendations for enterprise data lexicon and updates to systems of record
- Provides recommendations and solutions for enterprise data sharing, integration, and interfaces
- Works with data owners, database engineers, customers, system owners, program managers, and other stakeholders to align solutions with mission requirements and governance
- Presents solutions to customer management and engineering teams along with corporate management
- Gathers and documents risks and mitigations
- Assists managers in validating staffing approaches aligned to solutions, technical skills required, and service level agreements.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must hold or be able to attain and retain a U.S. Government issued security clearance
- Must be able to work and/or commute to Springfield, VA if needed
- May be required to travel up to 25%
- 5-8 years of Data Architecture and Modeling experience including direct support for the US Government. A deep understanding of how to conduct a thorough understanding of how to perform detailed system inventories, classifications, and categorizations.
- Experience collaborating with engineering and cybersecurity teams to align data with data protection standards. Experience in designing and applying data encryption and safeguards according to Government and industry standards for sensitive data (e.g., Personally Identifiable Information (PII)).
- AT least 5 years’ experience coordinating with security leaders such as ISSOs, assessors, or compliance analysts.
- Knowledge of NIST Guidelines and Cybersecurity requirements related to data protection
- Technical knowledge of IT systems and prefer to also have knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) Systems
- Knowledge of and relevant experience with data management and analysis tools
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Experience communicating effectively, both oral and written, with technical, non-technical, and senior-level customers
- Data Science and/or Data Architecture certifications preferred.
